Been awhile since I’ve posted anything but promise to start picking it up again! Felt inspired after watching the excellent Tribe Called Quest documentary “Beats, Rhymes & Life’. Truly one of the best groups of all time (in my humble opinion) and if you have any interest in them whatsoever then this is essential viewing!
Well I’ve not posted any hip hop yet and thought it was about time that was put right! I watched Ernest Dickerson’s 1992 directorial debut ‘Juice’ today starring Tupac Shakur and it features this absolute Eric B & Rakim classic which deserves an airing any day of the week! Enjoy!

So in honour of what has ended up as a day of posts involving all things carnival I think a little bit of jungle is in order for my second musical post. This comes from The Wildlife Collective (aka Ed Solo & Deekline) and their bassline tearout of the Dawn Penn classic ‘You Don’t Love Me (No No No)’. Tears the floor apart everytime I play it!
What is there to say about Major Lazer’s carnival party that hasn’t been said already. Hands down the best party of the year! Every time it gets better and better and last year excelled itself with a surprise live set from the one and only Toots and the Maytals. Now if that isn’t the best way to celebrate carnival then I don’t know what is! Oh and yes that is your blogger in the last photo but don’t forget I am already a day into the festivities and I told you I don’t know how to pace myself!
